The name was always going to end up here.

Creedance Clearwater is the original skull from my CRYSTALS collection — and when you know that CCR's name came partly from a television commercial for Olympia beer showing scenes of clean, clear running water, it all makes perfect sense.

Clear water. Crystal skull. It was meant to be.

There's a version of CCR history that focuses on the acrimony — the lawsuits,

John Fogerty's years of refusing to play his own songs, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 1993 that he attended without performing with his former bandmates.

All of that happened. But the music sits completely apart from all of it.

Four working class kids from El Cerrito, California who sounded like they'd grown up in the Louisiana bayou.

Fourteen consecutive top ten singles between 1969 and 1971 and not a single number one among them — which is one of the most remarkable statistics in rock history.

Bob Dylan and George Harrison eventually talked Fogerty into playing
the songs again in 1987.

He'd been holding out for fifteen years.

Worth the wait.

The skull is the same.

A pure pour of clear over a slightly opaque base — simple, classy and genuinely one of the most popular skulls I've made.

People just stop and stare at it. I completely understand why.

Sometimes the clearest things are the most beautiful.
